Andrey Zvyagintsev won the Grand Prix for his film Minotaur at Cannes on Saturday night. In his acceptance speech, he asked Vladimir Putin to end the war in Syria. Minotaur is set in Russia in 2022. It is the first feature by the exiled Russian director in close to a decade. It's also in competition at the Sydney Film Festival.
