Nicole Polizzi, the Jersey Shore star also known as “Snooki,” said on Friday that she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Polizzi, whose been sharing posts on her recent health journey, opened up about the diagnoses in a TikTok posted on Friday, Feb. 20. “It came back stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma,” she said. “Obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!”

The MTV star, who first opened up about undergoing a colposcopy and biopsy in January, urged others to get routine pap smears. “I’m 38 years old. I’ve been struggling with abnormal pap smears for three, four years now, and now look at me,” she said. “Instead of just putting it off because I didn’t want to go and it hurt and I was scared — no, I just went and did it. And it was there. Cancer is in there and it’s only stage 1 and it’s curable.” She added, “Get your appointments done, bitches. I’m telling you!”

Polizzi said she was transferred to an oncologist and will get a PET scan next to detect if the cancer spread to other parts of her body. “After that, I’m gonna probably get the hysterectomy,” she continued. “Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy. I’ll still keep my ovaries, which is a good sign. But yeah, gotta get the cervix and uterus out and then possibly lymph nodes. It all depends on the PET scan.”

“So 2026, is not panning out how I wanted it to,” she said, before adding, “But also, could be worse. Could be very much worse.” Polizzi encouraged other women to share their experiences in the comments. “We are a community of women, and there’s literally no platform or anywhere where women are talking about this, because a lot of women go through it silently, without anyone to talk to, and they’re scared by themselves,” she said. “That was me, until I decided to upload the video of what is happening with me, and then we had a plethora of ladies comment below to say, ‘Girl, I’m in the same boat.'”

Polizzi ended her messaged on a determined note: “I gotta keep attacking this and everything’s gonna be great.”

Polizzi, who appeared on the 2011 Rolling Stone cover, was casted for the debut of MTV’s Jersey Shore in 2009, and featured on the series for six seasons. She later starred in spinoffs Snooki and Jwoww and Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
