Latest polling shows Trump with little support. How Michigan views him

President Donald Trump faces continued negative pushback from Americans opposed to his leadership.

Trump fared poorly across several recent opinion polls with his disapproval rating reaching as high as 62%

in an Economist/YouGov poll conducted Aug. 7-10. Similarly, 60% of Americans surveyed disapproved of Trump in an Aug. 11 Civiqs poll.

Real Clear Politics, which aggregates data from numerous polls, shows Trump's current average approval rating is 19.4 percentage points below his average disapproval rating — a similar trend to late July, following a slight dip in early August.

The Trump polling reflects other data showing mostly dissatisfied Americans. On the direction of the country, the polling average shows 59.9% of Americans believe we're on the wrong track.

Earlier this week, Trump suggested he would be willing to declare a national emergencyin order to restrict voting in the November mid-term election.

During a Real America’s Voice interview with Trump on Aug. 10, host Wayne Allyn Root suggested issuing an emergency declaration to implement voting changes, a move that almost certainly would be challenged in court.

“Let me put an idea in your head, OK?” Root said, adding: “If they never get the SAVE America Act done, you have the right to declare a national security emergency for elections … so if you do this in the next month we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship and a limit to mail-in ballots."

“Let me just say that stranger things have happened, OK?” Trump interjected. “I’ll leave it at that.”
